Colder Weather... Minor Illness' Course Anyone?!?
Are you saving yourself from LITIGATION?

So here we are… approaching the end of our CPD calendar.
2025 has been an eventful year in which we’ve run a number of individual CPD masterclass’, free webinars, developed a YouTube channel and seen the numbers on our WhatsApp group rise sharply.
We have two masterclasses left and I thought I’d use this weeks issue to remind you on our two specialist masterclass’
CPD Pain Management and Analgesia Prescription Masterclass: (Sunday 23rd November)
Treating pain can be a pain in itself!
After the success of our recent Understanding Pain webinar, we’re excited to welcome Dr Fayruz, an anaesthetic registrar with a subspecialty in pain medicine. She’ll be uncovering the mysteries of effective pain management — including the use of novel analgesic combinations. It will go through difficult topics and also revise the principles of prescribing (suitable for medical and non-medical prescribers):
- Understanding pain pathways: neuropathic vs nociceptive pain
- Mastering the analgesic ladder (and when you should divert from it!)
- Understanding and approach to treating chronic pain
- Prescribing in specialist scenarios: opioids, palliative care, emergency departments, inflammatory disease drug interactions and more

This session is suitable for clinicians at all levels, from those new to managing pain to those encountering complex pain scenarios. As always, it will be recorded for future access! If you’re interested in booking, click the link here
CPD Minor Illness’ Masterclass (Sunday 7th December)
Our most popular course is BACK!
Whether you’re in primary care or out-of-hours services, this practical, knowledge-packed session gives you a fresh, focused recap of the conditions you’re most likely to see in everyday practice.
Across a wide range of specialties, we’ll explore the presentations clinicians encounter most, helping you sharpen your assessment skills, refresh key protocols, and deliver safer, more effective patient care.
Here’s a snapshot of what we’ll cover:
- Infectious diseases
- ENT & ophthalmic complaints
- Headaches & acute neurological deficits
- Rashes (lots of them!)
- Asthma, COPD & respiratory exacerbations
- Abdominal pain & dysentery
- Scoring systems & referral criteria …and plenty more.
We’ve packed the day with presentations, summary tables and pictures of diseases.
There’s a reason as to why it’s most popular course and we’d encourage you to book!
Have You Renewed Your Indemnity Insurance?
No.. this isn’t an add. Rather this is a reminder that we practice medicine in a highly litigious environment! Each year, NHS resolution has to resolve huge numbers of cases and payout millions. Whilst this doesn’t go from our individual pockets, the process is pretty daunting. Cases, lawyers, tribunals and in some cases, suspension.
This week we released a really unique podcast where we host Tracy Fields, an expert legal medical witness to enlighten us about clinical negligence and litigation. We had a fantastic conversation covering some key subjects that effect EVERY clinician: • Common clinical pitfalls that lead to negligence claims • What constitutes “sufficient” documentation? • Does following guidelines/protocols protect you in court? • What does litigation look like (£££)?
