Frailty, Prescribing and Chronic Disease
Our upcoming CPD Topics

Every season brings its own flavour… in the healthcare sense of course.
Summer brings us dermatology, allergies and sunstroke.
It’s also a good opportunity for us to prepare for higher acuity presentations which typically emerge during the winter months.
We’ve decided to mix it up this winter and with our CPD@7pm series covering some truly tough presentations, we’ve decided to cater our CPD offerings to tough clinical areas. So what have we got in store for you?
CPD Frailty & Prescribing Masterclass
Frailty is becoming one of the most important challenges facing modern healthcare, yet it often remains under-recognised until patients present with significant deterioration, falls, hospital admission or loss of independence.
Join our interactive 3-hour masterclass, delivered by Dr Mohammed Oomerjee, GP and co-founder of Pareto Education as we explore the practical assessment and management of frailty across primary and secondary care. Through real-world clinical scenarios, participants will learn how to recognise frailty using validated tools and scales, identify serious underlying pathology including infection, stroke and cancer, and navigate the complexities of polypharmacy, medication optimisation and safe deprescribing.
The course will also examine the vital role of the multidisciplinary team in supporting nutrition, mobility, cognition and overall quality of life, equipping clinicians with practical strategies to improve outcomes for older adults.
Ideal for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, advanced practitioners, non-medical prescribers and healthcare students, this session provides a comprehensive and clinically relevant update for anyone involved in the care of older patients.

This engaging and practical masterclass is designed to help clinicians confidently navigate the realities of chronic disease management in today’s NHS. Through real-world cases, expert teaching and interactive discussion, we’ll explore how to diagnose, optimise and coordinate care for patients living with conditions such as asthma, COPD, hypertension, diabetes, chronic kidney disease and heart failure, while also addressing cancer survivorship, severe mental illness, multimorbidity and polypharmacy.
Along the way, we’ll discuss common pitfalls, prescribing challenges, emerging therapies and strategies to improve outcomes through effective multidisciplinary working. This will allow you to approach chronic disease in a renewed way with an armoury of updated knowledge!
Whether you’re looking to refresh your knowledge, stay up to date with current guidance or simply gain greater confidence managing complex patients, this course will provide practical insights that you can apply in clinic the very next day.

Learning Difficulties Review - A Vital Review in Primary Care
Chronic disease reviews are bread and butter but learning difficulties are perhaps one of the most difficult reviews. Not only are there challenges with communication - we have to keep our eyes peeled with screening adherence, health behaviours, lifestyle and safeguarding alerts. It is no wonder these additional time is often given to these and why clinicians who can conduct them are well regarded.
If you’re interested in knowing how to conduct such reviews then watch our FREE video below. Don’t forget to like, subscribe and share our content!
