How To Stay On Top of Your CPD
CPD@7PM - A New Initiative by Pareto Education

As summer begins to transition into autumn, work will start to become busier—especially in healthcare settings.
Vaccines are being rolled out, respiratory wards are being prepared, and more patients will be walking through the doors of practices and A&E departments nationwide.
Our personal lives also become busier. We’ll be back to navigating morning traffic, school clubs will re-start, and our days will once again be filled with chores.
We’ve said this before, and we’ll say it again: don’t let your CPD suffer.
We believe that CPD for healthcare professionals is among the most important across all professional groups, primarily because it directly concerns the health of the patients we care for.
At Pareto Education, we’ve been working hard to create a one-stop CPD solution for you. We’ll keep this short, but we have some exciting plans in the works.
CPD@7pm
What’s this, you ask? In essence, our CPD webinars are becoming increasingly popular. We’ve kept track of the numbers, and with an average of 200 clinicians registering for our webinars each week, there’s clearly an appetite for the content we deliver.
So, every Wednesday at 7pm, you can benefit from a FREE webinar from Pareto Education. We’re keeping the day and time consistent each week to accommodate clinicians across the country.
As for topics, we’ve been reaching out (primarily through our WhatsApp groups) to ask professionals about the areas they find most challenging. Based on this feedback, we’ve decided to run TWO parallel streams of topics.
Essentials Series: Regardless of how specialised your work is, we all require working knowledge in other areas of medicine and surgery to enhance our practice. For instance, a specialist nurse working in renal medicine will always benefit from insights into cardiology or hepatology—two organ systems closely linked to the kidney. The Essentials Series does exactly what it says: we cover the key medical and surgical specialties, focusing on their core conditions, to provide you with an overview of essential diagnostic, investigation, and management principles.
Join us for our upcoming event: Essential Cardiology 1.

Tough Presentations:It’s exactly what it says. Some presentations make us scratch our heads and with the wide success of our abdominal pain webinar delivered by Kameel, we decided to try and tackle other “tough” presentations. We will be covering topics such as pyrexia in children, rashes, pain, swollen joints and more. Once again, we will be weaving these into our CPD@7pm series - Every Wednesday at 7pm to help fulfil your CPD needs.
Finally, we know all about record keeping. If you register and attend you will receive:
- Slide pack as a reference
- Self-CPD certificate.

Self CPD vs External CPD
Every clinician wants to grow.
This growth helps us feel more confident in managing patients and contributing to care. We also want to progress in our careers by:
- Becoming more efficient in seeing patients
- Taking on additional responsibilities
- Extending our skillsets into clinically useful areas
For appraisal purposes, clinicians want CPD that specifically fulfils the criteria above. Our new line-up of externally accredited CPD courses brings together specialists from various fields to cover challenging topics and provide greater clarity. We have organised courses covering:
- Antibiotic Selection and Prescription
- Radiology Masterclass delivered by a radiologist
- Haematology Masterclass delivered by a haematologist
- Pain Management delivered by an anaesthetist working in pain clinics
- Musculoskeletal Management delivered by a physiotherapist
Each course comes with an externally accredited CPD certificate and access to a recording if you’re unable to attend live.

Looking for Flexible CPD?
As a healthcare professional, shift work can be a barrier to life events, family engagements, and—in the spirit of this newsletter—CPD.
Some topics are also inherently difficult. A live, one-time-access course isn’t always sufficient to consolidate challenging subject matter. Sometimes you need to watch a tutorial several times before things really sink in.
Technology enables CPD to fit around you. This includes CPD on the go, CPD on-demand, and other flexible options we’ve created:
- CPD on the go: Have you seen our YouTube channel yet? If not, I’d highly recommend it! With 1.4k subscribers already, our channel is rapidly growing and filled with high-quality CPD content. From blood interpretation tutorials to topic-specific discussions, you can tune in anytime. We also feature insightful interviews with clinicians. For example, check out our interview with a physiotherapist who made the transition to becoming an ACP.
- CPD On-Demand: Some topics are complex and require time to fully understand. We’ve been working hard to develop long-form courses for “tricky subjects” such as blood interpretation. These modules include:An introductory questionnaire to test your knowledge
- A video tutorial with accompanying notes or an e-book
- A CPD certificate upon completion
We already have modules on endocrinology, tumour markers, and other topics, with more due to be released. You can view our full catalogue of on-demand courses here.
E-Books: These are proving very popular—we’ve already sold hundreds. Written by specialist clinicians, they cover a wide variety of topics to help enhance your knowledge and practice. Our latest publications include:
- Blood Interpretation: Full Blood Count, LFT, and Endocrinology
- Musculoskeletal Medicine Made Easy
- Fundamentals of ENT
- Mastering Analgesia
- Arterial Blood Gas Interpretation
Finally.. We’ve Gone Ol’ School
There’s nothing like a good old-fashioned physical book. Buying books has always been my guilty pleasure, and we know many clinicians also enjoy having books they can flick through. We’re excited to announce that we have now published our first physical book, titled:
“Investigations Made Easy: Simplifying ECG, ABG and CXR Interpretation”
Authors: Pareto Education, Dr Alina Imran, Dr Shams Abdalla Illustrator: Miss Zulaikha Bibi
This book brings together the key principles of ECG, arterial blood gas, and chest X-ray interpretation to help students and qualified professionals gain confidence in tackling these core investigations. Some of the specific features include:
- Detailed explanations of each investigation
- Foolproof interpretative frameworks for ECGs, ABGs, and CXRs
- Plenty of example cases to apply your learning
- A quiz with explanations to consolidate knowledge

So I’m sure you’ll agree - we have your CPD sorted!
Until next time when we’re back with some clinical insights and content!
