New Term, New Calendar
FREE OSCE resource, recorded weekly webinars and more

Hello all, it’s Mohammed (Mo) from Pareto here,
As the Easter Break comes to and end, I thought I’d update you about some of the exciting stuff we’ve been up to. It’s been quite busy on our side with lots of recording, planning and celebrating the birth of my daughter (Mo) - things have been slightly manic.
Nonetheless, business is as usual on the Pareto front and school holidays are often some of our most productive moments. So what have we got planned for you? In no particular order of excitement, here we go:
1. OSCE Histories Page
We connect with hundreds of students around the country and have also ran OSCE courses for various professional groups. We thought we’d take our student offering to another level with our FREE OSCE histories page. We’ve worked with clinicians all over the country to populate an exciting section of our website, filled with model histories and videos for clinicians to learn from. We’ve tried to cover the main medical and surgical specialties and created the following:
- OSCE Question List: We’ve taken each presentation that is often tested in exams and provided the main questions that should be covered in a history. This is to help you revise whilst practicing ensuring that you cover the main aspects of OSCE stations.
- OSCE Tutorial Videos:If you haven’t visited our Youtube page, we would certainly recommend it. We’ve been uploading high quality videos showcasing OSCE scenarios and have now integrated these into the “OSCE Histories” page on our website. Check it out.

- OSCE Mark-schemes (In development):Being lecturers ourselves, we’re aware the most clinical students own a tablet whilst others still like to have things printed out. Each history on our website will be accompanied by a mark scheme for you to use when practising. It also gives you an insight into how examiners mark OSCEs so you can ensure that you cover all the main aspects of a station.
This is a completely FREE resource and we’d appreciate it if you can share it with others.
2. Weekly Webinars - Recorded Access
Our weekly webinars have been going strong for over 2 years and on average, we get approximately 250-300 sign ups. Definitely not a small number!
In the lead up to our webinars, we tend to receive the following email. This is just a rough draft but you’ll get the gist..
“Hi Pareto Team, I’ve registered for the xxxx webinar being held tomorrow but I won’t be able to attend as I have work/commitment/on holiday/unwell. Is there a chance the webinar is recorded?”
It’s always logistically challenging getting webinars recorded, uploaded and made available. We want to ensure a high quality viewing experience with rendered audio and pleasant visuals. I think we’ve managed to find a way to facilitate this…
We are pleased to say that we will be recording some of our webinars and uploading them for purchase. We will be charging a nominal fee, but will also provide you with the slides and certificate for your record. Each recording will undergo some editing and will uploaded on our the “store” section of our website.

This doesn’t change the live webinars. They will remain FREE and you will get the slides and certificate.
3. Webinar & CPD Calendar
We have uploaded our webinar and CPD events on our website. We’ve taken all your feedback onboard and we have planned some awesome CPD courses on:
- Dermatology
- Paediatric minor illness
- Chronic Diseases
- Surgical Presentations
- Renal Disease
- Frailty
- Blood Interpretation Training
Some of the dates are yet to be finalised as are in the process of booking specialists to give you the best experience. In the meantime, you can book into our FREE weekly webinars. You will find some really engaging topics on there.
4. CPD Women’s Health Masterclass
Waiting lists to see a gynaecologist are getting longer.. In the meantime, patients are coming to primary care and sometimes secondary care for advice on how to manage complicated conditions. This includes vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain and questions around fertility. Additionally, with increased menopause awareness, the demand for HRT is also steeply rising. We at Pareto Education have invited Dr Iqra Azhar, a specialty registrar in obstetrics and gynaecology to deliver a CPD-accredited Women's Health Masterclass covering core topics in gynaecology. Topics such as menorrhagia, endometriosis, HRT, cancer and others will be covered with lots of case examples to facilitate learning.

The session will be held LIVE this Sunday (27th April). If you can't make the live session - don't worry - we will be recording the course for future viewing :)
That’s all for this weeks issue. Until next time!
