Pareto 2K25 - What Have We Got Planned for You?
Webinars, e-books and AI technology

This weeks newsletters’ going to be short and sweet.
We’ve been working REALLY HARD behind the scenes and have been reallyyyyy eager to inform you all of what we’ve got planned.
There are just under 4000 students and professionals on our mailing list and we’re always looking to support you in your quest to become better clinicians. We’ve got a mixture of FREE events as well as some paid events but as always, we believe in providing LOW COST education to clinicians. So here are the headlines
- Student Webinars: Our fan-favourite webinars are back and we restart things with Core Nephrology this Wednesday. Log onto student portal on our website to see our upcoming events. We’ve also planned some OSCE related sessions to help comprehensively prepare you for your assessments. As always, qualified professionals are always welcome.
- Professional Webinars:After the success of our “presentation-based” advanced practice webinar, we are back with new exciting topics. We thank all those who filled out our feedback form and based on this we have some exciting topics planned. You can expect teaching on frailty, infertility, red flags, quality improvement/audits and more! You can check out our exciting line up on our website.
- CPD Calendar 2k25:I mean.. where do I start? Last year was awesome as created a wide variety of courses to help support the clinical needs of hundreds of clinicians countrywide. We bought specialists (registrars, physios and others) to also share their expertise on specific subject matters. We are proud to say that we will be bringing your more CPD-accredited eventsthroughout 2025. The next few months will bring CPD masterclass’ on clinical emergencies, prescribing (for non-medical prescribers), cardiology and more. We also plan to bring back fan favourites such as our ECG Masterclass and Women’s Health which are always high yield subjects. Check out our [CPD page](http://www.paretoeducation.co.uk/cpd) to book onto our courses!

- E books: This has been a hidden gem in our arsenal of educational resources. We’ve had unbelievable feedback about our written materials which we’ve worked with clinicians countrywide to produce. Each e-book is written with care and we’ve always looked to improve on our content. Our launches include:MSK Made Easy: An e-book that takes the difficult subject of Musculoskeletal medicine and provides key, NICE guidance based summaries on key conditions encountered in acute settings. [It’s a whopping 63 pages and is incredibly comprehensive with tips, summary tables and treatment advice for common disorders.](https://www.paretoeducation.co.uk/category/all-products)
- Blood Interpretation: A difficult topic indeed but one that requires intense study. Whether you’re a student or a seasoned qualified professional, blood scenarios always make for difficult encounters. We have worked hard to write more blood interpretation specific material to help support you in your studies. Our latest book on haematology blood interpretation will explain almost all pattern of full blood count interpretation by way of written summaries, illustrative tables and practical encounters.

- CPD on-demand: Some things require further re-inforcing and blood interpretation is one of them. We’ve shifted away from live courses on blood interpretation and have uploaded professionally presented discussions on blood interpretation. Each module is worth 3 CPD points and you have up to 1 year to watch the content again and again. So far we’ve got a handful of modules uploaded but watch this space for more. Click here to read more about our on-demand courses.
There are also printed books, AI and OSCE materials in the pipeline but all will be revealed shortly!
Oh and by the way..It doesn’t end here! Our social media channels are constantly being updated with new resources. Our YouTube page has been active recently with videos spanning OSCE case examples as well career advice. We’d implore you to have a look and whilst you’re at it, do like, share and subscribe.
So there’s so much to look forward to in 2025. We are excited about delivering more teaching but at an even higher level.
Onwards and upwards from here!
Common Patient Queries: Cold Weather & Flu
Patient’s have all sorts of perceptions about health and cold weather is a hot topic. So does cold weather give you OR contribute to a flu infection?
Answer:
Not exactly! Cold weather itself doesn’t cause the flu, but it creates conditions that make it easier for the flu virus to spread. Flu is caused by influenza viruses, which thrive in cool, dry air. During colder months, people also tend to spend more time indoors in close contact, which increases the chances of transmitting the virus. The dry winter air can also dry out the protective mucus in your nose, making it easier for viruses to enter your body.
So whilst cold weather does not cause flu, it can contribute to an infection. Patients should wrap up warm, continue to use alcohol hand gel and subsequently hope for the best!
Until next time
